National Highway 6 is a radial axis, connecting the Northwest provinces, important belts, satellite urban areas and many industrial parks along the route with the central core area of Hanoi City.
As soon as it passes Yen Nghia bus station, Highway 6 begins to narrow, while the traffic volume is large, often congested during rush hours.
To solve the above situation, in December 2022, the Hanoi People's Committee started to renovate 21.7km of National Highway 6 through Ha Dong and Chuong My districts, of which the section through Chuong My district is 15.8km long, Ha Dong is 5km long, 9km.
The project's starting point is located at km14 in Ba La territory, Ha Dong district; End point km38, Xuan Mai town, Chuong My district.
The project has a total investment of 8,000 billion VND, invested by the Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board.
As noted by Labor on August 2, the contractor is focusing on constructing a number of route sections with a length of several kilometers through Chuong My district. Some sections are currently graded with crushed stone.
The remaining 15km has not been expanded because of land problems.
According to a report from the Hanoi Statistics Department, by the end of July 2024, the project to upgrade and expand National Highway 6 section Ba La - Xuan Mai has disbursed 7.7% of the capital plan.
To implement the above project, Chuong My district needs to recover about 85 hectares of land. Of which, there are 39.96 hectares of land for rice cultivation and aquaculture; 27.99 hectares of public land; 15.28 hectares of residential land; 1.42 hectares of agency and unit land and 0.35 hectares of cemetery land.
To stabilize the lives of people whose land is subject to recovery, Chuong My district needs to build 5 resettlement areas.
Leaders of Chuong My District People's Committee affirmed that the project plays a particularly important role for the district. Therefore, the locality has proactively coordinated with the investor to take steps to clear the site right from the first days.
With the drastic involvement of the entire political system and synchronous implementation of solutions, many obstacles in the liberation work have been resolved.
To date, Chuong My district has handed over 23.2 hectares of land to the investor for construction projects in the communes of Phu Nghia, Truong Yen, Dong Son, Thuy Xuan Tien, and Xuan Mai town.
Chuong My district strives to hand over about 80% of agricultural land and public land to investors by the end of 2024. It is expected that by 2025, the district will complete site clearance for project construction.
Ha Dong District People's Committee is also coordinating with city departments and branches to urgently carry out site clearance for the National Highway 6 expansion project.
The district has submitted to the Department of Planning and Investment for appraisal a plan to select a contractor to advise on moving design and setting up landmarks for site clearance across the district. Initially, more than 300 households were temporarily determined to have to move out of the premises.
The investor, Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, also said that it has directed contractors to speed up the construction progress of the project as soon as the site is received and qualified for construction.
According to the plan, the project will be completed in 2027, overcoming congestion, synchronously connecting technical infrastructure, contributing to socio-economic development of Ha Dong district, Chuong My district in particular and Ha City. Interior in general.
In addition, upgrading the route will strengthen links and trade between Hanoi and the Northwest provinces (Hoa Binh, Son La, Dien Bien, Lai Chau) and Laos.
