The project to upgrade and expand National Highway 1A (phase 2) from Km191+700 to Km193+300 was approved for investment by the Hanoi People's Committee in December 2023.
The project is 1.6km long, the planned cross-section will be expanded from 11m to 30m.
The project has a total investment of 499 billion VND, invested by the People's Committee of Thuong Tin district, and is scheduled to be implemented in the period 2023 - 2025.
To implement the project, Thuong Tin district plans to reclaim and clear 18,503.7 square meters of land, of which Thuong Tin town has a reclaimed area of 14,353.9 square meters and Ha Hoi commune 1,573.6 square meters, while non-agricultural land managed by 8 agencies and organizations is 2,576.2 square meters.
Chairwoman of Thuong Tin Town People's Committee Ly Thi Thu Huong said that to facilitate the site clearance process, the Town People's Committee has established a working group to focus on disseminating and mobilizing families within the project area. Along with that, it will coordinate with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and the Land Fund Development Center to carry out site clearance according to regulations.
The process of reviewing, comparing maps, inventory books and records of land plots of 218 families and 8 land-using agencies in the project as a basis for preparing site clearance records, drafting compensation, support and resettlement plans to submit to the District Site Clearance Compensation Council for approval according to regulations.
Up to now, 8 agencies, organizations and 14 families located on land managed by Thuong Tin town have been coordinating to clean up, move assets, dismantle all structures and hand over the site to the investor of the project to upgrade and expand National Highway 1A phase 2.
The leader of the People's Committee of Thuong Tin district said that he has assigned specific tasks to the district's professional agencies, together with the People's Committee of Thuong Tin town and related communes, to review and develop detailed plans to clear the land and prepare plans for resettlement for eligible households according to regulations.
The district also assigned units to prepare the site and start construction of 2 resettlement areas for families whose land is subject to land acquisition for the National Highway 1A expansion project phase 2 and are eligible for resettlement.
This is the basis for the project to start construction soon in the first quarter of 2025 as planned. When completed, the project will contribute to synchronizing the transport infrastructure system, meeting the travel needs of the people, promoting the socio-economic development of the southern gateway of the city.
