On the afternoon of July 10, Lai Chau Provincial Police said that at about 2:30 pm on the same day, at Km156 + 300 National Highway 279 in the area of Sap Ngua village, Muong Than commune, a landslide occurred.
Accordingly, hundreds of cubic meters of soil and rock from the positive taluy overflowed and covered the entire road surface, causing traffic congestion. Lai Chau Police announced that currently, vehicles are temporarily unable to pass through this road section.
Previously, on the night of July 9, at Km15+500 on National Highway 279D, the section passing through On village, Khoen On commune also experienced a landslide, causing temporary traffic disruption. Immediately after the incident occurred, functional forces were present at the scene to deploy handling and remedial measures.

Also during the prolonged heavy rain from July 5 to now, many landslides have been recorded on National Highway 32 and Provincial Road 128 in Lai Chau.
In Dien Bien province, heavy rain has caused many landslides and fallen trees on National Highway 6 and National Highway 12, causing traffic disruption.
Specifically, on National Highway 6 through Dien Bien province, many landslides occurred, causing traffic jams at locations Km408+870, Km409+050, Km413+600, Km436+020, Km463+740 and Km465+650.
On National Highway 12, the section from Muong Lay commune to Na Sang, there are also many large landslide points at Km119+500 and Km135+304, causing localized traffic disruption.
