The Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway is 100.8 km long, the entire route passes through Binh Thuan province and has 5 intersections. Currently, the road surface has 4 lanes, some locations have emergency stopping strips. The maximum speed on this expressway is 90 km/h.
In recent days, many drivers who changed lanes to get off the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway at the National Highway 28 intersection have violated traffic laws and have been fined by the Traffic Police. Many drivers said that there were problems with the road markings at the exit at this intersection. Reporters were present at this intersection to record the current situation.
At the road surface at the exit of the intersection, there are arrow lines pointing the vehicle in the direction. The lane for cars to move towards the exit of the expressway has a section with broken lines and straight lines. Some drivers when changing lanes, turning right into the highway exit to get off the highway ran around the broken lane and changed lanes to press the straight line. When the access road to the highway is almost over, the traffic police will stop the vehicle and report a violation.
In response to the above violation, some drivers said that the line break was too short at this location, causing the driver to not be able to handle it. While the entire section of the line was broken, the line was too long. There are also opinions that the road markings at this location " starting to solve the problem" for drivers.
On June 10, speaking with reporters, Mr. Pham Quoc Huy - Executive Director of the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway project (Project Management Board 7) said that the road markings at the exit locations at the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway intersections according to the design, the projects are all the same.
To avoid being fined for traffic violations when changing lanes at the exit of Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway, drivers need to pay attention to speed and change lanes at the correct location of the road markings.
A traffic police said that according to Decree 168/2024/ND-CP in Chapter II, Section 1, Article 6, it is stipulated that:

d) Failure to comply with regulations when entering or exiting the highway; driving in the emergency lane or on the side of the highway; Failure to comply with regulations on safety distance for vehicles running immediately before driving on the highway;
g) Changing lanes in the wrong place or without warning signals or changing lanes in violation of the regulation "each lane change is only allowed to change to one adjacent lane" when running on the expressway;
Clause 16. In addition to being subject to penalties, drivers who commit violations will also have their driving license points deducted as follows:
