The Bac Son extended road project connecting Quang Trung ward with Phuc Xuan commune (Thai Nguyen city) is 9.5 km long. The total investment is more than VND 2,100 billion under the PPP - BT Contract form invested by Xuan Truong Construction Enterprise.
The project started in July 2018 and is expected to be completed in December 2019. However, after many requests for an extension, the project has not been able to reach the finish line as planned. Currently, the project has been restarted by contractors
According to the reporter, at the construction site, dozens of workers and machinery were mobilized for construction.
In particular, focusing on implementing the intersection at the beginning of Bac Son and Cao Trang streets to solve the bottleneck at the beginning and end of the route. The items of planting trees and building lighting systems are carried out synchronously.
Adjusting some construction items compared to the original design includes: Changing sidewalk paving materials from Terrazzo bricks with counterfeit stone paving bricks, tree varieties, carpeting to add asphalt concrete layer on the already constructed cement concrete road.
According to Mr. Do Thanh Chung - Director of Xuan Truong Construction Enterprise, to synchronously deploy the project items, the unit mobilized total machinery and equipment, organized 10 teams to spread out the entire route to simultaneously construct 3 items.
The unit is determined to complete and hand over the entire project to the province by June 30.
The extended Bac Son road project, when completed, will contribute to removing obstacles that have existed for many years. At the same time, synchronizing transport infrastructure, completing modern urban space, promoting economic and social development.

Previously, in early April 2025, in Notice No. 152/TB-VPCP, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha agreed to let the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province use the land fund that has been cleared to pay investors for 2 construction investment projects under the form of public-private partnership (BT contract) in Thai Nguyen province, including: Bac Son road construction investment project extended from Km0+00 - Km3+350; Bac Son road construction investment project extended from Km3+500 - Km9+500) according to the BT contract signed by Thai Nguyen province.
At the same time, the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province is required to take full responsibility for the implementation of projects and complete the payment of land funds to investors before April 30, 2025, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
