The overpass project at km1717 + 700 National Highway 1 (Ba Bau intersection, in Ham Kiem commune, Lam Dong province) to connect National Highway 1 and the access road to Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway is being constructed by the contractor.
According to records, the Ba Bau intersection on National Highway 1 has been fenced with corrugated iron, inside is a construction site with many mechanical machines. There are currently 3 construction teams in operation, including: Dredging the bridge and expanding the existing Suoi Sup bridge.
Because the fence occupies all 2 lanes in each direction, the road surface in the area is narrowed, vehicles only have one lane next to the side to circulate. On weekends, when traffic volume increases, this area often experiences prolonged congestion.
The construction unit has placed signs and fences to ensure the safety of the construction area.
Recorded at night, the lighting and warning system is enhanced so that vehicles can be proactive from a distance.
A technical officer of the construction package said that due to the characteristics of the construction of the right overpass over the road fence, located right at the gateway to the highway, the unit has diverted traffic from a distance and placed warning signs.
The unit also recommends that drivers reduce speed when passing through the intersection, especially during rush hour and on weekends.
The overpass construction project at Ba Bau intersection is an additional item, aiming to resolve traffic conflicts after more than 2 years of the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway being put into operation.
The XL-05 package has the most important item, the overpass at km1717 with a scale of 4 pillars, 2 abutments, a bridge surface width of 17.5m, including 4 lanes.
The Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway Management Board said that the construction site is an intersection with a lot of traffic. The Board has directed the contractor to pay special attention to traffic organization during the construction process.
At the same time, the construction unit is required to strictly comply with regulations on traffic safety, labor and fire prevention and fighting.
XL-05 package: Construction of the adjustment of the connection plan of Ba Bau - National Highway 1A intersection started in mid-June 2025. The overpass is built across National Highway 1; below it is a roundabout and Suoi Sop bridge expansion.
In addition, at Phan Thiet intersection, the project also adds a right turn from the expressway to National Highway 1 with a length of 1.2km. The estimated construction time is 8 months. The total construction investment is 105 billion VND.
