Speaking at the conference, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien said that after 68 years of construction and development and especially in the past 6 years (since the establishment of the General Department of Market Management until now), Market Management has become the main force on the front line of the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the domestic market.

In addition to the achievements, the Market Management work and the local Market Management force still have limitations that need to be improved and lessons learned to perform the assigned functions and tasks in the new period.
"To meet the requirements of national development in the new era - the era of national growth, the Party and State have had an important policy on continuing to innovate, reorganize and perfect the apparatus of the political system. Ensure streamlining, effective and efficient operations, associated with restructuring the team of cadres and civil servants with sufficient qualities and abilities to match the tasks in the new situation.
In particular, directing the end of the organizational model of the General Department of Market Management and transferring local Market Management Departments to the People's Committees of provinces and cities for management. In order to improve proactiveness and flexibility, closely grasp the market situation, and be able to respond more quickly and effectively to market fluctuations in the locality" - Minister Nguyen Hong Dien said.
Minister Nguyen Hong Dien emphasized that the transfer will not change the core tasks of the Market Management Force. However, switching to a new operating model will require the marketing force to adapt quickly, ready to innovate working methods to suit the new tasks.
So that the Market Management force can continue to perform well the assigned functions and tasks. Especially in the context of increasingly difficult and complex market management in the online environment, the Minister suggested that the People's Committees of provinces and cities; Steering Committees 389 of provinces and cities pay attention to implementing the task of directing.
Reporting on the transfer of market information to localities at the conference, Director of the Domestic Market Management and Development Department - Mr. Tran Huu Linh said that up to now, 62/63 provinces and cities across the country have signed the transfer.
Decree 40 stipulates that the Ministry of Industry and Trade performs the function of state management of industry and trade, including the Market Management. The Decree also clearly stipulates that the Market Management force has the function of directly inspecting and guiding. Preside over and coordinate with ministries, branches and localities in the fight against counterfeit goods; have the function of directing, supervising and inspecting forces nationwide.

Director Tran Huu Linh also noted that changing the model should avoid sand in every area. Ensure connectivity and coordination between localities and the Ministry of Industry and Trade in the fight against counterfeit goods, smuggling, and trade fraud.
"There are changes in the organizational model but the color and responsibility of Market Management remain unchanged, requiring closer and closer coordination between the Provincial People's Committees and the Domestic Market Management and Development Department as well as the Ministry of Industry and Trade" - Director Tran Huu Linh emphasized.
