On the afternoon of November 8, at the regular Government press conference in October, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan informed the press about the fight against counterfeit goods, counterfeit goods, and trade fraud, especially on e-commerce platforms.
According to Deputy Minister Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan, e-commerce business methods are growing very well. In 2025, the expected growth rate is about 25-27%, a very high growth rate.
This business activity is based on the electronic environment, helping to bring goods to consumers conveniently and easily, thereby contributing to the overall growth of the entire e-commerce industry.
Basically, businesses that sell goods on e-commerce platforms have almost no counterfeit or counterfeit goods, only a few, but this proportion is not significant.
According to the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, the core issue at present is to continue developing e-commerce.
"It is true that there are counterfeit goods, counterfeit goods, poor quality goods, and goods that violate intellectual property rights that are "mingling" through this business method. This is related to prevention and control work. Currently, solutions are being implemented from many perspectives," said Deputy Minister Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan.

Regarding the legal mechanism, the leader of the Ministry of Industry and Trade said that there is a legal corridor related to e-commerce issues, handling violations and consumer protection. These regulations have stipulated the responsibilities of relevant agencies and organizations.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade is reporting to the National Assembly on behalf of the Government to develop the Law on E-commerce. In particular, it will continue to regulate the responsibilities of each subject related to the supply chain.
Regarding leadership and direction, the Government, the Prime Minister and relevant agencies have issued many resolutions and directives to direct the fight against counterfeit goods, counterfeit goods in general, including the e-commerce environment.
The Ministry is also implementing a project approved by the Prime Minister to directly combat counterfeit, fake, and poor quality goods in the e-commerce environment.
Regarding implementation, the Industry and Trade sector has a key force that is market management. In localities, there are related forces coordinating with other sectors, especially the Police and Customs. These agencies have organized many regular and continuous inspections and controls.
In particular, in mid-2025, there was a peak month when the Prime Minister directed the mobilization of all forces. Thereby, we have prevented and pushed this situation back, but this work is still determined to be carried out regularly and continuously.
Regarding the responsibility of the e-commerce platform owner, according to legal regulations, the platform owner must be responsible for controlling the origin of goods put on the platform. Another requirement is to have invoices and documents. At the same time, it is necessary to closely check and monitor the actual delivery of goods. The floor owner also needs to have a compensation mechanism for consumers.
If counterfeit or counterfeit goods are discovered, the floor owner must request the removal of the stalls of the sellers on the floor within 24 hours. The authorities also have regulations on handling violations.
Because the e-commerce environment is still related to the delivery of real goods, the authorities need to strongly attack warehouses as well as counterfeit and counterfeit production facilities.
"Hopefully, in the coming time, the forces will continue to coordinate with each other, along with e-commerce platforms, to prevent and thoroughly repel the problem of counterfeit goods," said the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade.
