On the afternoon of July 7, the Central Internal Affairs Committee held a meeting to announce the results of the 28th meeting of the Central Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity (Steering Committee).
The content related to violations of fake milk, fake functional foods and violations in licensing these items has been questioned by many press agencies.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Dong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission - said that the Central Steering Committee has assigned tasks. The prosecution agencies will continue to investigate, prosecute, and strictly handle the case according to the provisions of law.
The Central Inspection Committee is assigned to inspect and direct the inspection of acts showing signs of violations, assisting, corruption, and negativity in allowing businesses and individuals to produce and trade counterfeit goods and counterfeit food, affecting people's lives, health, and property.
This content must be completed by the Central Inspection Committee in the third quarter.
Another task, the Central Steering Committee, requires perfecting institutions and overcoming loopholes and inadequacies in Party regulations and State laws. Specifically, the Law on Food Safety; Decree 15 of the Government detailing the implementation of the Law on Food Safety.
"These regulations have loopholes and inadequacies that lead to individuals and businesses taking advantage to carry out illegal acts, and to corruption and negative acts" - Mr. Dong said.
The Central Steering Committee assigned functional agencies, in which the Government must review Decree 15, and then review a number of other relevant decrees. In addition, it is possible that some provisions of law may have to be amended to suit reality to ensure strict implementation of the law.
Regarding the tasks for the last 6 months of 2025, Mr. Dang Van Dung - Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission - said that the Steering Committee requested to focus on handling serious and complicated corruption, waste and negativity cases and incidents, and that the public is interested in and strives not to extend old cases and incidents to new terms, especially cases and incidents related to congress personnel, determined not to let degraded, corrupt, wasteful and negative cadres enter the new term of the Party Committee.
Focus on handling all cases and incidents that occurred at Thuan An Group, Vietnam Cement Corporation, related to the Bach Mai Hospital Project and Viet Duc Hospital, Nha Trang airport project. Review and compile a list of conclusions, recommendations for inspection, examination, auditing, investigation, prosecution, and trial that have not been completed or implemented yet, clarify the causes, responsibilities, have implementation solutions and clearly determine the completion time, not to "sink", especially after operating the new apparatus.
Assign the Central Inspection Commission to inspect, direct inspection, clarify violations, strictly handle organizations and individuals who are irresponsible, lax in leadership, management, corruption, negativity, and have committed violations of the law on the production and trading of goods of unknown origin and origin, not ensuring quality, especially functional foods and medicines, in the recent past.
