On April 2, the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City informed about the plan to implement the Market Stabilization Program in 2025 - Binh Ngo Tet in 2026 in the city.

The program maintains the goal of focusing on promoting the effectiveness and efficiency of specific policies and mechanisms for the development of Ho Chi Minh City according to Resolution No. 98/2023/QH15 of the National Assembly on piloting specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Ho Chi Minh City.

At the same time, be proactive, ensure supply and demand of goods, stabilize prices of essential goods; be ready to respond to urgent situations, especially during holidays, Tet and when natural disasters, epidemics occur...

There are 13 groups of food and essential foods. In normal months, the amount of goods stabilized in the market accounted for 23-31% of market demand. During the Tet months, the amount of goods stabilized in the market, accounting for 25-43% of market demand.

There are 6 groups of items for learning, accounting for 35-50% of the consumer needs of students in the city in the 2024 - 2025 school year.

There are 6 groups of essential consumer goods.

The implementation period is 12 months, starting from April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026. In particular, encourage businesses to participate in investment programs to develop modern distribution types such as supermarkets and convenience stores, focusing on developing points of sale at traditional markets, export processing zones - industrial parks, high-tech zones, worker accommodation areas, suburban areas in Ho Chi Minh City.

This year, the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City coordinated with the City Labor Federation to implement the program by promoting propaganda to workers to access and purchase essential goods at preferential prices, selecting products with guaranteed quality to promote sustainable economic development.

The Management Board of Export Processing and Industrial Zones and the Management Board of the High-Tech Park reviewed the subjects, quantity, and needs of union members and workers as a basis for the Department of Industry and Trade to implement the organization of sales in a focused and effective manner.

The State Bank of Vietnam, Region 2 branch and credit institutions support union members, civil servants, public employees, and workers in issuing bank cards, designing consumer credit products suitable as payment tools for essential purchases through the program's sales.

According to Mr. Nguyen Nguyen Phuong - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City, workers can shop in advance and pay after participating in purchasing goods to stabilize the market. With this form, workers will be supported with expenses to cover during difficult financial times, especially to buy goods with guaranteed quality and stable prices.
