Houses with joy and hope
Having just moved to a new, spacious house, teacher Nguyen Thi Hong Phuong, a union member of the Quang Thuan Kindergarten (Ba Don town, Quang Binh province), could not hide her emotions. Her situation was extremely difficult when her husband did not have a stable job, she was just a low-income cook, having to raise young children to study. For many years, her whole family has lived in a rented house, now and then, never daring to think about a solid house.
Receiving support from the Union Shelter is a great joy for me and my family. With this amount of 40 million VND, I boldly borrowed more to build a small house. From now on, my children and I can live with peace of mind, no longer worrying about moving or returning every rainy and stormy season, worried about damaging our house" - Ms. Phuong choked up.
Sharing the same joy, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan Huong, another preschool teacher in Quang Binh, has just been supported to build a new home. Her husband died early from a serious illness, she alone had to raise two young children, one of whom was in 11th grade and the other with thyroid cancer. The parents and children rely on each other in a dilapidated, cramped house that is unsafe, especially during the rainy and stormy season.
"The lives of my child's parents were already very difficult when they took care of their children's education and medical treatment. Now, having a solid house, I am truly grateful to the Trade Union for giving me a support in the most difficult times. This is not only a roof, but also a great source of encouragement to help me continue to strive for the future of my children" - Ms. Huong said emotionally.
Trade unions join hands
Sharing about the significance of the "Union Shelter" program, Chairwoman of the Quang Binh Provincial Federation of Labor Dinh Thi Ngoc Lan emphasized that the "Union Shelter" program is not only a housing support policy, but also demonstrates the spirit of solidarity and responsibility of the Trade Union organization towards the lives of union members and workers in especially difficult circumstances".
Many union members and workers in Quang Binh have been supported with funding to build houses from the "Union Shelter" Fund. Each completed roof not only brings peace of mind and stability to families but also adds motivation for them to work with peace of mind and stick with their work.
In particular, the beneficiaries are mostly union members with low incomes, working in special occupations such as healthcare, education, industrial park workers, who, despite great efforts, still have difficulty in getting a solid house.
Many union members have been so happy and moved when receiving support. Thanks to the cooperation of the Trade Union organization and socialized resources, they have a new, spacious and solid house, helping their lives become more stable.
"In the coming time, the Quang Binh Provincial Federation of Labor will continue to call for resources so that more union members can be supported. We hope that every union member in difficult circumstances can settle down, thereby working, working and contributing with peace of mind" - Ms. Dinh Thi Ngoc Lan - President of the Quang Binh Provincial Federation of Labor - affirmed.
