According to Lao Dong Newspaper's source, on February 7, 2026, Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee will organize a ceremony to announce A Pa Chai Border Gate to be allowed to carry out cross-border goods trading and exchange activities, and at the same time carry out procedures to export the first shipment (22 tons of coffee).
Accordingly, the customs clearance time is implemented from 7:30-16:30 (Hanoi time) every Wednesday, starting from February 11, 2026.
Goods allowed to be exchanged and traded through A Pa Chai Border Gate include: agricultural products (coffee, sugarcane...) and other goods as prescribed.
Traders who need to import and export goods with China through A Pa Chai - Long Phu Border Gate and need support can be informed to Dien Bien Department of Industry and Trade.
The introduction of A Pa Chai - Long Phu border gate to carry out cross-border goods trading and exchange activities is of great significance, contributing to promoting border gate economic development and strengthening Vietnam - China friendly cooperation relations.
Previously, at the end of December 2025, the Dien Bien Department of Industry and Trade had a working session with leaders of Jiangcheng district, Puyi city, Yunnan province (China) to promote the early announcement of the opening of the A Pa Chai - Long Phu bilateral border gate.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Dung - Deputy Director of Dien Bien Department of Industry and Trade, to create favorable conditions for trade, the Department has advised the Provincial People's Committee to seek opinions from the Government and ministries and sectors on allowing the implementation of trading and exchanging goods across borders right before the official opening announcement.
Ministries and sectors have basically agreed with the policy of announcing A Pa Chai Border Gate to be allowed to carry out cross-border goods trading and exchange activities" - Mr. Dung informed.
