The impact of storm No. 5 with gusts of wind of level 12, a series of medium and low voltage power lines were broken, many transformer stations stopped operating, causing hundreds of thousands of households in Nghe An province to lose power.
Key areas such as hospitals, pumping stations, and disaster prevention command agencies were also seriously affected.

As soon as the storm passed, Nghe An Power Company mobilized all forces and vehicles, working through the night despite bad weather to fix the problem. The company's leadership directly went to the scene to direct and work with workers to inspect and handle each damaged point.
On the night of August 25, four shock teams with 53 officers and employees from units with little damage were mobilized to support heavy areas. By dawn on August 26, the Northern Power Corporation continued to support more than 220 workers from Hai Phong, Lao Cai, Phu Tho, Ninh Binh, Lai Chau, Son La, Hung Yen. Nghe An Provincial Military Command also mobilized 100 soldiers to directly cut down trees and clear the line.
By 7:00 p.m. on August 26, 35 power lines and 2,166 transformer stations had been restored, more than 266 thousand customers had electricity back.

According to a representative of Nghe An Power Company, the unit determined that restoring power supply as quickly as possible after the storm is the top priority task, in parallel with ensuring absolute safety for people and equipment. The staff and workers of Nghe An Electricity have worked continuously to soon stabilize the lives and production of the people.

The whole province had 148/178 power lines out of power, 6,169/7,963 transformer stations were out of operation, causing more than 868,000 out of a total of more than 1 million customers to have no power. The power grid was severely damaged with 32 medium-voltage poles broken, 11 landslide slopes, 425 low-voltage poles broken and 68 poles cracked; in addition, there was 1 transformer station and 1 transformer damaged.
