Purchasing power in Ho Chi Minh City is stable

Records at some supermarkets in Ho Chi Minh City show that the number of shoppers is currently quite stable, especially at fresh food and essential consumer goods stalls. Many consumers said that prices in general do not fluctuate much, while discount programs make shopping easier.

Ms. Le Thu Thuy (resident of Binh Trung ward) shared: "Every day I still go to the supermarket to buy food. Vegetable and fish prices are quite stable, and there are many promotions, so living expenses do not increase much.

Meanwhile, Mr. Minh Hung (resident of An Dong ward) said that discount programs and membership points accumulation help families save significantly when shopping in large quantities.

Post-Tet promotions are also an opportunity for consumers to take advantage of buying more essential goods at good prices. For me, buying goods at supermarkets is both safe and has many discount programs, so it is easy to shop" - Mr. Hung said.

According to records, maintaining abundant supply and many stimulus programs are contributing to maintaining a stable shopping rhythm at retail systems in the city.

Mr. Dinh Quang Khoi - representative of MM Mega Market Vietnam - said that the business continues to promote the market stabilization program and the "Green Accumulation of Responsibility" activity to attract customers. According to Mr. Khoi, consumers are increasingly interested in the origin, quality of products and reasonable prices. Therefore, ensuring transparency of goods information and incentive programs is an important factor to stimulate consumer demand.
