Prolonged heavy rain due to the impact of two consecutive storms caused many areas in Thai Nguyen to be deeply flooded. Saigon - Hanoi Insurance Corporation (BSH) said that the enterprise has activated a 24/7 rescue mechanism to receive, assess and compensate for damages.
In Thai Nguyen, Dr. Nguyen recorded 82 cases of cars being flooded and hit by water, including 12 cases of deep flooding. The number is still being updated and is expected to increase sharply.
However, the flood center in Thai Nguyen has put the insurance appraisal team in a difficult situation.
Our goal is to keep the appraisal - advance payment - repair flowing as soon as the water begins to recede. The Office of Dr. Viet Bac in Thai Nguyen lost power and water, but the team of appraisers still maintained the work and changed the working method with the "mobile office", turning the vehicle into a temporary file processing center to ensure that the reception and appraisal work was not interrupted," said a representative of Dr. Viet Bac.

Mr. Pham Tuan Khuong - Director of Viet Bac Social Insurance - shared: "My family and many brothers at Viet Bac Social Insurance - Thai Nguyen were also flooded and were significantly affected. But we still try to arrange, move to reach and support customers in a timely manner, make every effort to prepare records and guide customers on measures to minimize damage".
Mr. Khuong added that handling insurance records in areas most severely affected by floods is not only a matter of quantity but also a barrier to logistics and operations. The water has not completely receded, making it impossible for customers to clearly determine the extent of the damage. The appraiser could not accurately assess the damage to the vehicle or property until the water receded, causing the appraisal work to be delayed and more complicated.
In areas such as Quang Vinh and Tuc Duyen, the water has not yet receded completely, so the assessment is difficult. The company said it is regulating vehicles to neighboring provinces, but most of them are still being handled on the spot. The biggest challenge at present is the shortage and delay of components. Due to the sudden increase in orders after two storms No. 10 and 11, many companies have announced that the supply time of parts, especially electronic devices, may be significantly extended.
Ms. Phan Thi Anh Thu - expert from Thai Nguyen Social Insurance - said: "The flood lasted for a long time, we had to both receive - assess on-site, and coordinate rescue to the associated workshop to shorten the repair round".
Mr. Le Van Long - Director of the Northern Motor Vehicle Compensation Appraisal Center of BSH - informed: "We are waiting for updated data on the number of lost vehicles and the operation status of garages in Thai Nguyen area. On that basis, BSH will adjust the appropriate support plan in the coming time: Or mobilize more staff from Hanoi to strengthen Thai Nguyen; or coordinate to bring damaged vehicles to garages in Hanoi and neighboring areas to reduce the load on the area, shorten repair time and limit damage".
