Domestic coffee prices today remain below VND91,000. Dak Lak is currently trading around 90.300 VND/kg. Gia Lai is priced at VND80,200/kg while Lam Dong is at the lowest level of VND89,500/kg.
Compared to last weekend (September 6), domestic coffee prices have lost about VND6,000/kg, equivalent to a decrease of more than 6%. Compared to the peak in April - when the price reached 129,300 - 130,200 VND/kg, the current price has decreased by more than 30,000 VND/kg.
On the London Stock Exchange, Robusta coffee prices fell sharply in the most recent trading session. The September 2025 delivery period decreased by 150 USD, closing at 3,320 USD/ton. Longer terms also fell by $123 - $122/ton.
Meanwhile, Arabica coffee prices on the New York exchange increased again. The September 2025 delivery period increased by 3.75 cents, to 287.80 cents/lb. Other terms such as December 2025, March 2026 or May 2026 all increased by more than 2 cents, bringing Arabica prices closer to 290 cents/lb.
The opposite developments between the two exchanges are causing the market to struggle strongly. Arabica prices increased thanks to the forecast that supply from Brazil could slow down after a rapid harvest, while Robusta was under downward pressure due to concerns about supply surplus when inventories were greater than consumer demand.
Overall, domestic coffee prices lost more than VND6,000/kg for the whole week, marking the strongest week of decline since the beginning of the third quarter.
However, the market still has many potential supporting factors. The latest statistics from the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) show that Vietnam's coffee output in the 2025-2026 crop year could reach 31 million bags, an increase of nearly 7% compared to the previous crop. However, global consumption is only about 169 million bags, leading to a surplus of over 9 million bags, causing long-term pressure on prices.
