In some areas in Phu Tho, construction sand prices have continued to increase in recent days.
Meanwhile, many sandbanks are still in a state of shortage, not meeting consumer demand. Many projects of businesses and people are facing difficulties.

According to the reporter's records in late July, some sandbanks along the Da River bank (in Hoa Binh ward, Phu Tho province) are temporarily suspended from operation.
"We have temporarily stopped operations because the facility has not had sand to sell for the past few days," said Mr. Pham Xuan Quynh, owner of a sand beach in Hoa Binh ward.
According to the survey, the prices of yellow sand and black sand both increased compared to the beginning of July 2025. Black sand prices are around 300,000 - 400,000 VND/m3, an increase of about 50,000 to over 100,000 VND/m3; while the price of golden sand in some places has reached 1,000,000 VND/m3.

According to the owner of Thuy Khanh construction materials store, Kim Boi commune (Kim Boi district, old Hoa Binh province), not only has the price increased, but the amount of sand is also less. Because the store imports sand from outside Hoa Binh (old), there are days when it has to wait for the supplier to collect enough before transporting. Currently, the store is supplying black sand at 320,000 VND3 m3, while yellow sand is at 800,000 VND/m3.
At Dung Theu construction materials store, Hoa Binh ward, in recent days, it has mainly supplied black sand.
"Recently, my family has only sold black sand, mainly because the price of yellow sand is both high and scarce. The price of black sand that is currently in the hands of the people is 400,000 VND/m3, yellow sand ranges from 600,000 - 900,000 VND/m3 depending on the type.
People who need to repair their home should calculate carefully. Or find out the supplier so as not to buy poor quality sand at an unnecessary price, said Ms. Nguyen Thi Theu, the store owner.
Although the price of construction sand has been increasing recently, many people still accept to "break their teeth" in paying because the need to repair and build houses cannot be delayed.

"I know the price is high, but my house has many damaged places, I wait until the storm comes, I'm afraid it will get worse. We have to accept additional expenses to repair them soon, said Mr. Nguyen Van Tai, a resident of Thong Nhat Ward.
Not only do people build individual houses, but other businesses also have to recalculate costs when input material prices increase, especially sand.
Ms. Thu Trang, owner of Moc An Tra restaurant, Hoa Binh ward, said: "At first, when preparing to build the restaurant, I estimated the cost of about 500 million VND. However, material prices, especially sand prices, are gradually increasing, and other costs are also "hugging". By the time the construction was completed, the cost had increased to nearly 600 million VND".
It is known that the reason for the recent increase in sand prices is the impact of weather and heavy rain, causing sand mining activities to be interrupted and reducing output.
Transportation and management of riverbed resource exploitation activities have also been tightened, some sandbanks have to stop exploitation to complete legal procedures.
Public investment projects and large-scale projects are being accelerated by contractors in the province, so the demand for materials is increasing.
