On April 20, the Department of Industry and Trade of Gia Lai province said that the unit has requested relevant functional agencies to increase support for exporting enterprises in the context of the world market having many complicated fluctuations.
Currently, Gia Lai has about 30 enterprises operating in the export sector. Among them, there are many prestigious names such as Vinh Hiep, Hoa Trang, Tin Thanh Dat.
Currently, many large enterprises specializing in processing agricultural products for export such as Hung Son, DOVECO, Nafoods... are also stepping up investment in the province.
The European market currently accounts for about 60% of Gia Lai's total export turnover, while Asia accounts for 30%, the rest is from other markets.
The province's two main export products are coffee and fruit, with turnover in 2024 reaching 640 million USD and 150 million USD respectively.
Typical local products such as honey, macadamia nuts, cashew nuts, bird's nest, green tea... also have great potential to expand exports.
To maintain and expand the market, especially the European market, businesses need to strictly comply with international regulations on quality, food safety and traceability.
The entire process from raw material exploitation to product distribution must ensure legality and transparency. Any violation can lead to investigation and termination of the commercial contract.
The Department of Industry and Trade of Gia Lai province recommends that exporting enterprises proactively update market information, develop appropriate production and business plans and have effective risk response plans.
In particular, businesses need to be cautious in selecting and controlling input materials to avoid the risk of being investigated for origin fraud or tax evasion.
In addition to complying with regulations, businesses are also encouraged to promote product diversification, expand consumption markets and develop supply chains.
Effective implementation of bilateral and multilateral free trade agreements (FTAs) that Vietnam has signed will contribute to improving competitiveness and boosting exports in a sustainable and long-term manner.
