On May 17, Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee said it had agreed on the policy of temporarily suspending the receipt of new proposal dossiers for small-scale pig farming projects that are not consistent with the province's livestock development orientation, from May 10 until further notice.
According to Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, the identification of subjects and scope of dossiers for temporary suspension of receipt must be carried out carefully, in accordance with current regulations, in accordance with the province's livestock development plan and orientation and actual conditions in each locality; not to create additional procedures and conditions outside regulations.
The Department of Finance and the Department of Agriculture and Environment are responsible for advising and proposing the handling of each specific dossier and project according to their assigned functions and tasks.
In the process of appraisal and giving specialized opinions for each project, these 2 Departments must be responsible for contents related to livestock breeding, environment, livestock density, total herd size, water source conditions, safe distance and level of conformity with the province's livestock development plan and orientation.
For projects that do not meet the conditions according to regulations or are not consistent with the province's livestock development orientation, functional agencies must have clear opinions to summarize and advise on handling.
For projects that have been approved for investment policy, the Provincial People's Committee requests these 2 Departments to coordinate with localities to inspect the implementation progress; requests investors to commit to the implementation progress, shorten the implementation time compared to the approved progress, but must ensure the quality of the project, environmental requirements, disease safety and related conditions.
In case the project is delayed or not implemented, implemented not in accordance with the approved content, and does not ensure conditions for continued implementation, advise competent authorities to handle and recover it in accordance with regulations.
