On May 16, Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee announced that it had agreed on the policy to implement the project of Repairing, restoring and promoting the value of Nuoc Man historical relic - the birthplace of the Quoc Ngu script, according to the proposal of the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The Provincial People's Committee requests that the project implementation must ensure synchronization and harmony between preserving the original value of relics and promoting cultural, historical, traditional education values and sustainable tourism development.
Regarding the expansion planning work, the Provincial People's Committee assigned relevant departments and branches to coordinate with Tuy Phuoc Bac Commune People's Committee to urgently review, study, and propose a plan to expand the relic space in the direction of overall linkage with the Ba Nuoc Man Pagoda area and neighboring cultural and religious works.
The goal is to form a unique cultural - historical - tourism complex of the locality, ensuring synchronous connection of infrastructure, transportation, landscape, community living space and serving visitors.
The planning, architecture and landscape plan must be consistent with the historical and cultural elements of the relic site; preserve traditional space, promote heritage values, and create motivation for local cultural tourism development.
The process of researching expansion planning needs to pay special attention to promoting the true stature and historical value of Nuoc Man Historical Relic - one of the first locations to form, test and develop Quoc Ngu script in Vietnam; associated with the East-West cultural exchange process, the missionary activities of Jesuit priests and the formation of the Latin script system of Vietnamese.
Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the relic has special historical, cultural and linguistic value, and is an important milestone in the process of national cultural development, contributing to the formation of a unified language tool, creating a foundation for the dissemination of knowledge, development of journalism, education, literature and social life of Vietnam through many historical periods.
Therefore, the investment, restoration and promotion of the value of relics need to be studied methodically, in depth, commensurate with the typical value of the birthplace of the Quoc Ngu script; towards building this place into a unique cultural, historical and tourist destination, serving traditional education, scientific research and promoting local image.
