World oil prices today
World gasoline and oil prices today increased sharply. At 7:57 am (Vietnam time), WTI crude oil price was at 104.36 USD/barrel, up 7.79 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 8.07%. WTI oil closed the previous trading session at 96.57 USD/barrel and opened today's session at 102 USD/barrel.
Brent oil price was at 102.60 USD/barrel, up 7.40 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 7.77%. Brent oil price closed the previous trading session at 96.20 USD/barrel and opened today's session at 102.50 USD/barrel.
According to analysts, oil prices reversed sharply after direct talks between the US and Iran in Islamabad (Pakistan) ended after more than 21 hours without reaching an agreement.
This development raises concerns that tensions in the Middle East will continue to escalate, thereby increasing the risk of disruption to global oil supplies. In particular, strategic transport routes in the Gulf region may be affected, leading to increased insurance and transportation costs, thereby creating pressure to push oil prices up.
Reality shows that as soon as signs of instability appear in the Middle East region, the oil market immediately reacts strongly. Unsuccessful negotiations further strengthen concerns about the risk of short-term supply shortages.
Besides supply and demand factors, market sentiment continues to play a dominant role in oil price developments. Previously, expectations of the possibility of reaching a ceasefire agreement once dragged oil prices down deeply. However, new developments quickly reversed the trend, pushing oil prices back up.

The above domestic retail gasoline and oil prices are adjusted by the inter-Ministry of Industry and Trade - Finance from 3:30 PM on April 9, 2026.
Accordingly, the price of E5RON92 gasoline decreased by 2,393 VND/liter; RON95 gasoline decreased by 2,993 VND/liter; diesel oil 0.05S decreased by 9,872 VND/liter; mazut oil decreased by 1,658 VND/kg.
