Today's gasoline price, September 17: World gasoline prices suddenly cooled down. WTI oil fell below $71/barrel; Brent oil fell below $74/barrel.

World oil price today

World oil prices suddenly cooled down after a strong increase. At 11:27 (Vietnam time), WTI crude oil was at 70.71 USD/barrel, up 0.46 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 0.65%. WTI crude oil closed the previous trading session at 70.25 USD/barrel, opening today's session at 69.61 USD/barrel.

Brent oil was at 73.63 USD/barrel, up 0.40 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 0.55%. Brent oil closed the previous trading session at 73.23 USD/barrel and opened today's session at 72.96 USD/barrel.

Thus, world oil prices suddenly turned down in the first trading session of the week. At the end of yesterday's trading session (September 16), Brent oil prices decreased by 1.35%; WTI oil prices decreased by 1.66%. By this morning's session, both oil products had recovered slightly.

According to analysts, world oil prices suddenly decreased as the conflict between Iran and Israel was showing signs of cooling down.

Domestic gasoline prices today

On June 17, retail gasoline prices according to the price list announced by Petrolimex in regions 1 and 2 (46 provinces and cities are applying) are as follows:

The above domestic retail price of gasoline and oil has been adjusted according to the price of the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade jointly announced in the price management session on the afternoon of June 12, 2025. Accordingly, domestic gasoline prices increased simultaneously.

E5 RON 92 gasoline price increased by 199 VND/liter, RON 95-III gasoline price increased by 269 VND/liter, diesel price increased by 280 VND/liter, kerosene price increased by 227 VND/liter and mazut price increased by 283 VND/kg.

Forecast of domestic gasoline prices in the coming period

According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. According to current market developments, it is forecasted that in the upcoming price adjustment period, retail prices of gasoline may increase sharply.

In particular, the price of RON 95 - III gasoline is forecast to increase by about 1,190 VND/liter; E5 RON 92 - II gasoline increases by about 1,070 VND/liter; Diesel increases by about 1,030 VND/liter.
