Today's gasoline price September 9: World gasoline price today plummeted. WTI crude oil is at 56.86 USD/barrel, Brent oil is at 60.24 USD/barrel.

World oil price today

World oil prices today fell sharply. At 12:07, WTI crude oil was at 56.86 USD/barrel, down 2.72 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 4.5%. WTI crude oil closed the previous trading session at 69.58 USD/barrel, opening today's session at 58.32 USD/barrel.

Brent oil was at 60.24 USD/barrel, down 2.58 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 4.11%. Brent oil closed the previous trading session at 62.82 USD/barrel and opened today's session at 61.55 USD/barrel.

Thus, world oil prices continued to fall sharply today. The two standard oil products have fallen sharply by about 20% since April 2, after US President Donald Trump announced that he would impose tariffs on all imports into the US.

According to Reuters, starting from April 9, the US will impose a tax rate of up to 104% on Chinese goods, and increase the tariff by 50% after Beijing does not lift the 34% retaliatory tax rate on US goods.

China's Ministry of Commerce has said it will "fight to the end", raising concerns about the risk of a global economic downturn.

Analysts say the risk of a global recession is present in the context of growing concerns about declining energy demand.

Domestic gasoline prices today

On April 9, retail gasoline prices according to the price list announced by Petrolimex in regions 1 and 2 (46 provinces and cities are applying) are as follows:

The above domestic retail price of gasoline and oil was adjusted by the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade in the price management session on the afternoon of April 3, 2025. Accordingly, gasoline prices have increased simultaneously.

E5 RON 92 gasoline price increased by 341 VND/liter, RON 95-III gasoline increased by 495 VND/liter, kerosene increased by 211 VND/liter, diesel increased by 261 VND/liter, mazut increased by 124 VND/kg.

The discount levels of gasoline products today, April 9, at some domestic gasoline trading enterprises are as follows:

Tu Luc Petroleum: Diesel discount 0.05S-II: 2,350 VND/liter; Diesel 0.001S-V: 2,200; RON 95 - III gasoline: 2,350; E5 gasoline: 2,150 VND/liter.

MIPEC Petroleum: RON 95 - III Petroleum Discount: VND 2,100/liter; E5 Petroleum: VND 2,000/liter; Diesel 0.05S-II: VND 2,450/liter. Applicable to the Northern region.

Forecast of domestic gasoline prices in the coming period

According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. According to current developments, it is forecasted that in the next price management period, retail prices of gasoline may decrease sharply.

In particular, RON 95 gasoline price may decrease by about 1,700-2,000 VND/liter; E5 gasoline may decrease by about 1,500-1,700 VND/liter; Diesel oil may decrease by about 1,200-1,500 VND/liter.
