On June 10, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Tran Chi Cuong signed two decisions to sanction administrative violations against a business and a business household selling counterfeit goods.
Famous brands such as Chanel, Hermes, and Rolex have been forged and publicly sold. The total fine is up to 145 million VND, along with remedial measures such as forcing the destruction of all violating exhibits.
Previously, on May 19, the Market Management force conducted a surprise inspection of Luxury Goods Danang Company (headquartered on Pham Van Dong Street, Son Tra District). Here, the inspection team discovered that the establishment was selling 70 " Chanel" wallets and 10 "Hermes" wallets with signs of counterfeiting, with a total value of goods up to 41.5 million VND. Because this is a repeat offense (one was punished in 2024), this company was subject to a heavily increased fine of 100 million VND and forced to destroy all of the above counterfeit goods.
On the same day, the authorities continued to inspect the 99% store of the "99% Da Nang" business household (on Tran Phu Street, Hai Chau District). This establishment was discovered to be displaying for sale 9 "Rolex" wristwatches, 15 " Chanel" handbags and 9 pairs of "Hermes" sandals, all of which are counterfeit goods of brands protected in Vietnam. For this violation, the business household "99% Da Nang" was administratively fined 45 million VND and was also forced to destroy all violating goods.
Da Nang's seriousness in the fight against counterfeit and counterfeit goods aims to protect the legitimate rights of consumers and businesses that do business honestly, contributing to building a healthy and transparent business environment.
