All of these smuggled cosmetics were discovered during a surprise inspection at a business establishment of Ngan Korea Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Company Limited in Gia Lam District, Hanoi. All of the goods were identified as smuggled, with a total listed value of more than VND2 billion.
Market Management Team No. 8 (Gia Lam District) under the Hanoi Market Management Department said that on May 31, it coordinated with the Department of Investigation Police on Corruption, Economic Crimes, Smuggling, and Environment (PC03) - Hanoi City Police to conduct a surprise inspection of a business location located in the old Yen Thuong Kindergarten, Lai Hoang Village, Yen Thuong Commune, Gia Lam District.
This location belongs to Ngan Korea Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Company Limited, with head office at house number 2, alley 80/1, Lai Hoang village, Yen Thuong commune, Gia Lam, Hanoi.



At the time of inspection, the authorities discovered that the establishment was trading 5,400 cosmetic products without invoices or documents, identified as smuggled goods.
These goods include: 2,520 bottles of Dr.Melaxin Peel Shot exfoliant rice ampoule (80ml/fullet, made in Korea) and 2,880 bottles of Dr.Melaxin Peel Shot exfoliant black rice ampoule (80ml/fullet, made in Korea). The total value according to the listed price is up to 2.16 billion VND.
The company representative admitted that all of these cosmetics were bought floating on the market, without documents proving their legal origin.
Along with that, the Company also violated regulations when doing business at a location that had not been registered with the competent authority. The case is currently being further verified and clarified for handling according to regulations.
Previously, on May 12, 2025, Market Management Team No. 8 and PC03 also inspected a business establishment at No. 58A, Lane 130, Cong Thon Village, Yen Vien Commune, Gia Lam District, owned by Dang Thanh Nam (residing in Bac Ninh City, Bac Ninh Province).
Here, the authorities temporarily seized 16,840 products including shirts, sets of clothes, hats of all kinds counterfeiting famous brands such as Adidas, Nike, Burberry, Lacoste and 220 foreign-made men's shirts without invoices or documents. All goods were identified as smuggled goods with a total value of over VND900 million. Due to signs of criminality in the case, Market Management Team No. 8 completed the file and transferred it to Hanoi City Police for handling according to their authority.
Then, on May 8, 2025, the authorities inspected the facility at address A17, CN-02-2-1 box, Ninh Hiep Industrial Cluster, Ninh Hiep commune, Gia Lam district, and discovered 1,971 products of cow's pants and cow's feet with the brands YSL, Dior, Chanel, LV, Gucci... forged. The estimated value of the shipment is more than 227 million VND. Market Management Team No. 8 has prepared a dossier and continued to transfer it to the Hanoi City Police Investigation Agency for consideration and handling according to regulations.
From May 15, 2025 to now, Market Management Team No. 8 has inspected and handled 16 violations, mainly in Ninh Hiep commune and neighboring areas. The total amount of administrative fines and being handled is up to 336 million VND, while the estimated value of goods forced to be destroyed is nearly 2.46 billion VND.
