At 1:55 p.m. on June 27, 2025, the EPC General Contractor Joint Venture Samsung C&T and Vietnam Machinery Installation Corporation - JSC (Lilama) coordinated with the Investor and Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) to successfully synchronously connect Nhon Trach 4 Power Plant with a capacity of 50MW to the national grid. This event marks the efforts of the parties in ensuring the progress of putting the plant into operation.
To ensure quality according to project standards, the testing process of auxiliary systems at Nhon Trach 4 Power Plant was carried out under the support and close supervision of experts from equipment manufacturers, suppliers, along with a team of engineers, supervisors of investors, consultants and general contractors.
This is an important milestone, affirming the completion of initial installation and testing, and at the same time a foundation for implementing the next steps such as optimizing the system, coordinating operations with the national grid towards putting the plant into commercial operation according to the set plan.
The commercial operation of Nhon Trach 3 and Nhon Trach 4 power plants will add about 9 billion kWh of electricity per year to the national power system, contributing to ensuring stable power supply for the Southern region in particular and for the entire power system, national energy security in general. At the same time, this is also a premise for developing a chain of LNG power projects in the Power Plan VIII approved by the Prime Minister.
It is expected that Nhon Trach 4 Power Plant will be put into commercial operation from October 2025.
