In particular, the Department of Health, Provincial Police, Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Steering Committee 389 of Khanh Hoa province are required to strengthen inspection and examination of cosmetic production and trading activities.
Focus on checking products of unknown origin, not published according to regulations, cosmetics with false advertising, and labels that are not in accordance with regulations; online business activities, especially on social networking platforms and e-commerce platforms.
The Provincial People's Committee requires units to conduct regular testing and post-inspection samples for cosmetic products that have been circulating on the market to strictly handle violations. At the same time, recall and destroy all types of cosmetics suspected of being counterfeit, cosmetics of unknown origin, cosmetics that are not of good quality and are unsafe for consumers.
Assign the Department of Health to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies to review central and local regulations on cosmetic production and trading activities to propose amendments and supplements if necessary before June 15.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism shall preside over and coordinate to promote community communication, businesses and consumers to raise awareness, vigilance and denounce violations.
According to the Ministry of Health, recently the situation of trading in cosmetic products such as hand-carried goods, counterfeit goods, goods of unknown origin, not ensuring quality and commercial fraud in the cosmetic sector has become increasingly complicated, affecting people's health, consumer rights and the reputation of the domestic cosmetic industry.
In Khanh Hoa, on the afternoon of May 30, the Economic and Position Crime Investigation Police Department, Khanh Hoa Provincial Police, has just inspected and discovered nearly 6,000 cosmetic products to whiten the face and whole body in apartments in Phuoc Hai Ward, Nha Trang City of unknown origin.
All of the discovered cosmetics, some of which were purchased by the owner without invoices or documents, then processed, labeled, counterfeit anti- product labels, printed ingredients and information of origin and sold on the market.
The owner of the facility has been operating since 2016 but has not registered for business, tested products... according to regulations. From the end of January 2025 to now, the owner of this facility has launched more than 26,000 cosmetic products on the market, earning nearly 3 billion VND.
