Ministry of Industry and Trade explains the reason for stopping mineral gasoline, only circulating E10, E5 gasoline
From June 1, 2026, Vietnam officially distributes E10 biofuel nationwide, replacing traditional mineral gasoline. At the seminar "Is using E10 gasoline worrying?", representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade said that the conversion aims to reduce emissions, promote the use of renewable energy, develop the value chain of biofuels and strengthen national energy security.
Mr. Dao Duy Anh - Deputy Director of the Department of Innovation, Green Transformation and Industrial Promotion (Ministry of Industry and Trade) - said that the Ministry has comprehensively assessed the supply, storage infrastructure, mixing, transportation and distribution before deployment.
According to him, when the conditions are ripe, there is no reason to continue maintaining mineral gasoline, because this will go against the goal of reducing dependence on fossil fuels and improving energy self-sufficiency.
