Dak Lak's economy breaks out from processed agricultural products to trade - services

THANH QUỲNH |

Dak Lak - Processing industry in the province recorded strong growth. The retail sector also flourished with increased consumer demand and diverse services.

In the first 9 months of 2025, the processing and manufacturing industry will continue to play a key role in the economic development of Dak Lak.

Many key products not only remain stable but also exceed the plan. Of which, cassava starch reached more than 153,000 tons, sugarcane was approximately 246,000 tons, processed coffee was nearly 38,000 tons, cashew nuts were exported for more than 29,600 tons...

These figures not only reflect production capacity, but also show the joint efforts of farmers, businesses and authorities in increasing the value of local agricultural products.

In parallel with industry, Dak Lak's trade and service sector also flourished strongly. In September alone, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue reached more than VND 16,000 billion, up nearly 16% over the same period.

Accumulated in the first 9 months, this figure exceeded VND138,000 billion, reaching more than 3/4 of the annual plan and increasing by over 13% compared to 2024.

On weekends, supermarkets and shopping malls in Buon Ma Thuot are always bustling with shoppers, from essential goods to new products with promotions. Scandal programs have been continuously implemented, both creating a vibrant atmosphere and affirming that people's purchasing power is gradually recovering.

In traditional markets, the business atmosphere is equally bustling. Vegetables, coffee, pepper, honey... are widely sold, reflecting the vitality of agriculture associated with the domestic market.

According to the assessment, in the context of the global economy still facing many fluctuations, Dak Lak's stability and achieving positive growth is a positive sign.

Entering the fourth quarter of 2025, the Department of Industry and Trade aims to increase the industrial production index by at least 10% over the same period, while continuing to reform administrative procedures and remove difficulties for businesses.
