According to the Bac Kan Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister on November 3, 2023, this locality is planned to have 10 golf course complexes in 6 districts and cities.
In particular, Cho Moi district has 3 golf course planning areas following the Thai Nguyen - Cho Moi expressway axis, including: Eco-urban complex, resort tourism, cultural and sports complex and Cho Moi 1 golf course (Quang Chu commune), area of about 480 ha; Eco-urban complex, resort tourism, sports culture and Cho Moi 2 golf course (Quang Chu commune), area of about 200 ha; Eco-urban complex, resort tourism, cultural and sports complex and Cho Moi 3 golf course (Yen Cu commune), area of about 150 ha.
Ba Be district also has 3 areas planned and is calling for investment in golf courses, including projects: Ba Be 1 ecological, resort, cultural, sports and golf course complex (Khang Ninh commune) with an area of 194 hectares; Ba Be 2 ecological, resort, cultural, sports and golf course complex (Dong Phuc commune) with an area of 300 hectares and Ba Be 3 ecological, resort, cultural, sports and golf course complex (Thuong Giao commune) with an area of 150 hectares.
In addition, 4 ecological and resort complexes combined with golf courses from 18 to 36 holes in Bac Kan city, Bach Thong district, Cho Don and Ngan Son are also being invested by this locality.
Up to now, no golf course project has been implemented in Bac Kan province.
According to data from the Bac Kan Provincial Tax Department, in 2024, total revenue in the area will reach 930 billion VND, this is also the locality with the lowest budget revenue in the country in many years. Currently, the poverty rate of Bac Kan is still over 19.4%.
