Mr. Pham Van Nguyen - Chairman of Xuan Dai Ward People's Committee - confirmed that heavy rain caused floodwater from the mainland to flow massively into Xuan Dai Bay, killing a large number of shrimp. The locality recommends that people limit going to sea at this time.
According to research, lobster prices currently range from only 150,000200,000 VND/kg, while on normal days they typically reach about 1 million VND/kg.
According to statistics, historic floods that have lasted for many days in Dak Lak have caused serious damage to people and property, with total initial damage estimated at more than VND4,500 billion.
Specifically: More than 200,000 houses were flooded; more than 18,000 households had to be relocated; 358 schools and 10 health stations were flooded and damaged; more than 63,000 hectares of short-term crops and more than 100,000 hectares of perennial crops were damaged; more than 3.5 million livestock and poultry died or were swept away.
