Red music "concests" explode
In recent years, the "national concert" has received attention. The revolutionary music nights attracted tens of thousands of audiences, in which young people who love red music showed the strong spread of patriotism.
2025 marks the explosion of red music and national political art programs, creating a special wave of emotions in Vietnamese cultural life. The stages of tens of thousands of audiences, the moments of tens of thousands of people singing the National Anthem... showed that music is becoming a bridge connecting the community, strongly arousing the spirit of national solidarity.
A series of programs from A50 - A80, important anniversary events of the country to music nights honoring history and culture, are continuously held in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and many provinces and cities.
In Ho Chi Minh City, from the program "The Land of Full Joy" taking place at the outdoor stage of Thong Nhat Hall on April 20 to the program "Spring of Union" taking place at the Golden Spring on the evening of April 29, the audience has returned to the flow of history through dramatic art and modern screening technology. In Hanoi, 12 Theaters "bright" when introducing many plays to celebrate the A50 Festival (Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification), such as the play "The People in Rubber Steps", "White Night" of the Vietnam Drama Theater, the national symphony concert - the audience of "The Song of Victory" of the Vietnam National Music and Dance Theater, the musical "Fire from the Earth" staged by the Youth Theater, the music night "Memories of Truong Son" at the Hanoi Opera House...
Towards the A80 A80 ceremony (Celebrating the 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2), the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST) will organize 3 concerts "Vietnam in Me"; "80 Years of the Journey of Independence - freedom - Happiness"; "I Love My Fatherland", not only arousing pride, love for the homeland and the desire to contribute, but also affirming the important role of music in promoting the development of the Vietnamese cultural industry. Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong emphasized that all 3 concerts are highlights in the A80 series of activities and the National Achievement Exhibition, so they have a great influence.
Thanks to the combination of top-notch art and modern staging technology, the programs have vividly recreated the journey of building and defending the country, connecting the heroic memories of the past with the creative spirit and aspirations for the future of today's generation.
One of the images that caused strong emotions last year was the moment more than 50,000 people sang the National Anthem at My Dinh Stadium in the national concert "Fatherland in the heart" on the evening of August 10. That is a testament to the connecting power of music - where the past and present meet in the same heartbeat of national pride. The audience volunteered to wear shirts printed with red flags with yellow stars, creating a brilliant "star flag". That moment was shared by many audiences: "Unstoppable tears", "A moment that only music for the Fatherland can bring". Many artists admitted that they were "overwhelmed" and had never seen a red music night "fueled" by such a large audience.
During the National Day on September 2, many free concerts took place in Hanoi, attracting people and tourists to participate such as the program "Hanoi - Morning of Vietnam's Aspiration", "Epic Art Night", "80 years - Proud of Vietnam", "Eternal epic", "Under the Golden Star", "Forever the best song" ...
Not only in the capital, the heat of red music concerts spread to many localities. At the Hanoi Opera House, thousands of people lined up all night wanting to get a free ticket to watch the national concert "Vietnam in Me" in August this year. Many audiences from many neighboring provinces such as Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen... "overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain" are not afraid of traveling far, "falling in the rain" because they are waiting for revolutionary music programs.
This shows that the demand for quality art enjoyment of the Vietnamese public is increasing, while patriotic music, rich in humanity, is making a strong comeback.
When music becomes a mission to inspire patriotism
2025 will witness the participation of many major agencies such as: Hanoi People's Committee, Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST), in collaboration with social organizations and businesses to create national concerts.
According to Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong, concert events are not only large-scale, emotional music nights, but also a clear demonstration of the ability to organize and produce professional and modern cultural - entertainment products, aimed at the general audience.
It can be seen that national concerts are now not only an artistic playground but also have a cultural mission, inspiring patriotism, fostering the spirit of solidarity and connecting the Vietnamese community at home and abroad. A new trend, where the State and the private sector join hands to create "national music festivals", bringing top-notch programs in scale, quality and spiritual value.
Associate Professor, Dr., musician Do Hong Quan - Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations - commented: "Having a powerful cultural force like today is the result of a long-term process, demonstrating the steadfastness of the Party and State on the path to developing an advanced culture with strong national identity. Major events in 2025 such as the 50th anniversary of the National Reunification, the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2 have attracted tens of thousands of spectators, multiplying the spirit of patriotism and strongly spreading national pride".
According to him, this achievement is thanks to the determination in implementing major programs, the strong contribution of artists and especially the response of the public. Culture and art affirm an important role in social life, accompanying the cause of innovation, contributing to the country's development strategy. He also emphasized that today's young generation of artists and writers have inherited the spirit and tradition from their predecessors, creating a solid foundation for Vietnamese culture to enter the stage of development, confidently integrating internationally.
Looking back at a year of explosive concerts, it can be seen that music is becoming the most powerful way of connection: Connecting between generations, connecting between memories and the present, connecting between Vietnamese people in all regions and more importantly, connecting between individuals and the Fatherland.
The vibrant melodies, beautiful lyrics about the homeland, the moments when thousands of hearts join in a rhythm have lit the fire of national pride - the fire in which artists are the ones who keep the fire the most persistent.
