Expanding the aviation component supply chain with cooperation from Japan

The Vietnamese aviation market has grown by over 10%, opening up great opportunities for aircraft equipment production.

On October 17, at the Southern Supporting Industrial Park of Hanoi (HANSSIP), a tour and survey program was held at the Techno Park Vietnam - Japan Industrial Complex.

The event was attended by former President Truong Tan Sang; Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung; leaders of central and local agencies; and the ambassador of the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam.

Onaga Co., Ltd. (Japan) currently manufactures aircraft components at HANSSIP, meeting strict standards on safety and accuracy. These components have been exported and used in the global aviation industry, demonstrating the production capacity of the industrial park to international standards.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Ishikawa Isamu - Deputy Ambassador of Japan to Vietnam emphasized that Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW dated May 4, 2025 of the Politburo identifies the private economic sector as an important driving force of the economy, while encouraging the linkage of domestic enterprises with FDI enterprises in industrial parks.

The Deputy Ambassador said that Japan is committed to accompanying Vietnam in strengthening the supply chain, transferring technology, sharing knowledge and training human resources.

Speaking at the event, HANSIBA Chairman Nguyen Hoang said that the Vietnamese business community has gradually participated in the domestic and international production chain, aiming at localization and improving self-reliance and autonomy.

According to Mr. Nguyen Hoang, promoting cooperation with enterprises in developed countries, including Japan, helps Vietnamese enterprises access technology, processes and global production certificates; high-tech training and connecting domestic and international markets, thereby promoting mutual strengths and sustainable development.

N&G Group and businesses in the ecosystem have focused on investing in synchronous industrial park infrastructure, meeting global production chain standards.

HANSSIP is fully planned with medical, educational, cultural, and housing services for workers, engineers, and experts, creating a favorable foundation to promote production cooperation with international partners, including Japan.

At HANSSIP, N&G Group and Onaga together with HANSIBA have formed the Vietnam - Japan Technology Park Industrial Complex. Phase 1 has been put into operation with a chain of factories of Vietnamese and Japanese enterprises.

The first factory invested by Onaga in the production of aerospace components, high-speed ships, semiconductors, robots, construction machines, high-tech agricultural machinery according to international standards, with the support of Boeing Group (USA).

Mr. Nguyen Hoang also expressed his confidence in the effective cooperation between the supporting industry and high-tech business communities of Vietnam and Japan, considering this a testament to the industrialization cooperation policy between the two countries within the framework of the Vietnam - Japan Joint Initiative.

In the coming time, the two sides will deploy Phase 2 of Techno Park at HANSSIP and expand to the three regions of North - Central - South.

At the event, Mr. Onaga Masaru - Chairman of Onaga Company Limited (Japan), presented the process of manufacturing aerospace components at the Onaga Vietnam factory.

Mr. Onaga said that the company currently produces small aircraft components such as bushings (liners), used for doors, engine sockets, flaps, fuel tanks and many other parts. Despite their small size, these details must meet safety standards and high accuracy, serving the international aviation market.

The company has invested in a modern, environmentally friendly equipment system and ensured safety for workers. After processing, the components undergo surface treatment and plating, ensuring durability and quality according to aviation industry standards.

"The Vietnamese aviation market has grown by over 10%, opening up great opportunities for aircraft equipment manufacturing," said a representative of Onaga, emphasizing the expansion of the supply chain to Vietnamese enterprises.

In addition to current partners, Mr. Onaga stated that he will continue to cooperate with many Vietnamese enterprises, helping them access technology, receive technical training and participate in international production chains.
