A representative of Duong Huy Coal Company, a member of the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (TKV), said today (December 19) that the company has just celebrated the 2.5 millionth ton of coal in 2024, reaching the design capacity of Khe Tam mine.
The Khe Tam Coal Mine Tunnel Exploitation Project - Duong Huy Coal Company, Cam Pha City, Quang Ninh Province started construction in November 2006, completed basic construction and put into production in November 2017, with a mine capacity of 2.5 million tons of coal.
In the early years, the highest annual output was only about 2.2 million tons/year.
To achieve the mine's design capacity, in 2024, the Company has focused on maintaining and promoting the application of science, technology and new technologies in production and exploitation.
Since the beginning of 2024, Duong Huy Coal's production has encountered many difficulties because the mining areas from +38/-100 are mostly in the border areas of mine fields, with complex and fluctuating geological conditions and gradually ending.
The designed peak output of 2.5 million tons/year is at a depth of -100m. Currently, the company is implementing a plan to go down to -100/-250 to open up new exploitation areas.
According to the leader of TKV, the project of exploiting the Khe Tam coal mine shaft - Duong Huy Coal Company reaching a designed capacity of 2.5 million tons in 2024 has opened a new step forward, helping to maintain and increase the Company's coal mining output, meeting the coal demand of the national economy, contributing to the development goal of the Vietnam Coal industry in 2024 and the following years.
TKV Group also hopes that Duong Huy Coal Company will strive to maintain the capacity of 2.5 million tons/year of Khe Tam mine in the next 5 to 10 years. To achieve that goal, the Company needs to review and develop a plan early; propose specific tasks and solutions to successfully complete the plan. In particular, it is necessary to prioritize continuing to open new production areas from -250 to -350; increase the application of science and technology, digital transformation in production and business...

It is known that this is one of TKV's coal mining companies with the largest number of high-income miners in the group.
According to incomplete statistics, the company has over 1,500 miners and electricians with annual income of over 350 million VND, accounting for nearly 70% of all miners and electricians in the company.
The average salary of the whole company is 20.1 million VND/person, of which miners earn 23.3 million VND/person, the highest level since the beginning of 2024. The unit with the highest average salary is still Workshop CGH01 with over 32 million VND/person/month, of which the highest is over 50 million VND/month, equivalent to over 600 million VND/year.
