On February 25, the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) held a conference to announce the decision to establish a Party Committee and decisions on the organization and personnel of the State Bank.
At this conference, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Canh - Vice Chairman of the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises - was transferred and appointed as Deputy Governor of the State Bank. The appointment period is 5 years.
History and working process
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Canh, born in 1972, is a senior specialist with a high level of political theory. He graduated from university and Master of Economics from the University of Birmingham, UK.
Before being appointed as Deputy Governor of the State Bank, Mr. Canh held many important positions in the finance - banking sector, including:
Vice Chairman of the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises.
Director of the Department of International Cooperation, State Securities Commission (Ministry of Finance).
Assistant Governor of the State Bank.
Director of the Foreign Exchange Management Department, State Bank.
With this decision, the current State Bank leadership includes Governor Nguyen Thi Hong and 6 Deputy Governors: Dao Minh Tu; Doan Thai Son; Pham Tien Dung; Pham Thanh Ha; Pham Quang Dung; Nguyen Ngoc Canh

Decree 26/2025/ND-CP takes effect from March 1, 2025, replacing previous regulations on the functions, tasks and organizational structure of the SBV.
