On June 3, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee issued a press release on the socio-economic situation, national defense and security in May and the direction and tasks for June 2025.
In the first 5 months of 2025, Nghe An's state budget revenue reached more than VND 10,846 billion, equal to 61.2% of the annual estimate, exceeding 3.5% over the same period. This is a positive result in the context that the locality is implementing many key tasks on socio-economic development, administrative apparatus arrangement, procedure reform and digital transformation.
In terms of economy, industrial production in May increased by 18.4%, many key products such as diodes, cement, and electricity production grew quite well. Total retail sales of goods and service revenue is estimated at VND14,628 billion, up more than 11.5%. Tourism recovered strongly with 1.4 million visitors, estimated revenue of more than 4,163 billion VND.

In the investment sector, the province approved the investment policy/issuance of certificates for 7 new projects, adjusted 18 projects with a total newly granted capital and increased to nearly 643 billion VND. The number of newly established enterprises in the month was 149 enterprises, with a total registered capital of more than 1,100 billion VND.
In the field of culture and society, the province has successfully organized the lotus village festival and inaugurated Uncle Ho's monument to visit the hometown on the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth. The education sector has completed the school year program and is actively preparing for the 10th grade entrance exam and high school graduation.

In June 2025, Nghe An will focus on completing the work of rearranging commune-level administrative organizations to implement from July 1. At the same time, promote disbursement of public investment capital, review public assets after the merger and promote substantial and effective administrative reform.
The Provincial People's Committee requests sectors and localities to continue to thoroughly grasp and synchronously implement the Central's instructions, closely follow growth targets, and not let the restructuring of the apparatus affect production and business activities, people's lives and development tasks.
Other key tasks include forest fire prevention, floods, epidemics; organizing high school graduation exams; promoting housing construction for the poor; preparing for the 100th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Award and developing a socio-economic development plan in 2026.
