According to the People's Committee of Quang Binh province, the socio-economic situation in May and the first 5 months of 2025 continued to maintain a stable momentum and positive growth. In the industrial sector, the industrial production index (IIP) in May is estimated to increase by 6.9% over the same period last year. Industries such as manufacturing, processing, electricity distribution, food production... maintained good growth.
Trade - services have improved a lot when total retail sales of goods and service revenue is estimated at VND 5,631 billion in May, up more than 12.4% over the same period. In the first 5 months, trade revenue reached VND 27,463 billion, up 35.4%. The transportation and warehouse sector also grew well, estimated at over VND 2,450 billion in 5 months.
Total state budget revenue in the first 5 months of the year is estimated at more than VND 3,094 billion, reaching 47.57% of the central budget estimate and 44.61% of the local budget estimate.
In May 2025, activities during Quang Binh Tourism Week were organized enthusiastically, attracting more than 630,000 visitors, an increase of nearly 59% over the same period in 2024. By the end of May, the whole province had welcomed over 2.1 million visitors, an increase of 15.8%. Total revenue from tourism reached nearly VND 2,492 billion.
The province has synchronously implemented the work of improving service quality, training for tour guides and organizing attractive art and sports programs, creating tourism highlights.
Promoting social security policies
A representative of the Department of Agriculture and Environment said that in the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, the whole province has started 100% of the houses in the first phase (1,550 houses), of which nearly 1,000 houses have been completed. Phase 2 is under implementation, reaching 14% progress.
The housing support program for meritorious people has reached 84.3% of the progress, with more than 2,000 apartments under construction. In the field of labor - employment, the whole province has organized 8 job fairs, provided consultation to more than 1,600 people, and introduced jobs to 223 people.
Education and training activities are enhanced in preparation for the high school graduation exam and grade 10 admission. Vocational counseling and career guidance programs for high school students continue to be organized effectively.
In the medical field, infectious diseases are well controlled. The province promotes vaccination, community health care and implements the "Fod Safety Action Month".
Culture - sports are bustling with a series of events for Tourism Week, swimming competitions for age groups, Festival of folk culture clubs, and 50-year Quang Binh cultural and artistic exhibition.
By the end of May, the disbursement rate of public investment capital reached more than VND 1,103 billion, an increase of 44% compared to the previous month. The province continues to urge the progress of key projects such as Quang Trach 1 Thermal Power Plant, La Trong Hydropower Plant, Dong Hoi Airport's T2 Station, North - South Expressway...
The contents of the arrangement of administrative units and the reorganization of the two-level government apparatus are also being seriously implemented, in accordance with the direction of the Central Government.
