Recorded at traditional markets in Ho Chi Minh City, the amount of lychee fabric sold retail is 25,000-35,000 VND/kg, some places are 20,000 VND/kg, a sharp decrease compared to last year (60,000-70,000 VND/kg). Northampton frog is only 15,000-25,000 VND/kg, avocado 034 is priced at 20,000-25,000 VND/kg, orange is from 5,000-4.000 VND/kg.
Ms. Le Thanh Tuyet - a fruit seller near Nguyen Tri Phuong market said that this year there are many goods coming in, especially seaweed, durian, and rambutan.
"Every day I import about 300-400kg of seaweed from the unit market, selling for only 20,000-25,000 VND/kg but still selling slowly. Buyers like it but are afraid that they won't be able to eat it all, because every family now has fruit" - Ms. Tuyet shared.
At a mobile sales point on Phan Van Tri Street (Binh Quoi Ward), Mr. Nguyen Phuc Hau said: "I carry seaweed, watermelon, and Thai jackfruit to sell along the road. The selling price is cheap but it is not easy because many passersby only ask but few buy.
Meanwhile, Ms. Le Thi Minh (Ban Co ward) took the opportunity to go to the supermarket to buy fruit under promotion. "Today's expenses are 10,500 VND/kg, seaweed is 25,000 VND/kg, I bought 3-4 kg to eat for the whole family. This year's fruit is surprisingly cheap, some are only half as good as last year" - Ms. Minh said.

At supermarkets such as Co.opmart, Big C, WinMart... melons cost 44,000-50,000 VND/kg, watermelon 13,000-14,000 VND/kg, Nam Roi grapefruit 40,000 VND/kg...
According to Mr. Nguyen Binh Phuong - Deputy Director of Thu Duc Agricultural Products Market (HCMC), seaweed is currently "hugging the market" due to the large amount of goods flowing in while purchasing power is weak. In early July, many types of fruit were in the main season, causing consumption to be divided into smaller areas.
Last year, due to the poor fabric crop, Ho Chi Minh City residents had not even had time to enjoy it when they were out of stock. At that time, the common selling price was up to more than 50,000 VND/kg.
A representative of the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association said that this year, many types of fruit such as durian, lychee, rambutan... are in good harvest. However, consumption demand is slower than in previous years. Notably, durian exports to the main market, China, did not meet expectations, causing the price of this commodity to decrease.
