Export turnover of agricultural, forestry and fishery products increased sharply
Agricultural, forestry and fishery export turnover (NLTS) in February 2025 reached 4.4 billion USD, up 37.2% over the same period in 2024. In the first two months of the year, the total NLTS export turnover reached 9.38 billion USD, up 8.3% over the same period last year.
Agricultural exports reached a value of 4.89 billion USD, up 4.5%. Export turnover of livestock products reached 72.2 million USD, up 4%. The value of seafood exports reached 1.42 billion USD, up 18.6%. Forestry exports reached 2.68 billion USD, up 11.9%. Exports of output and production reached 307.6 million USD, down 0.2%. The value of salt exports reached 1.4 million USD, double the same period in 2024.

Asia continues to be Vietnam's largest export market with a market share of 42.2%. The next major markets include the US with 24.2% and Europe with 15.5%. Exports to Africa and the ocean account for a smaller market share, reaching 2.9% and 1.4%, respectively.
Compared to the same period last year, exports to Asia decreased by 1.6%, while exports to the US increased by 19.8%, Europe increased by 22.3%, Africa increased by 2.2 times and the Atlantic increased by 8.2%.
The US, China and Japan continue to be the three largest export markets of Vietnam, with market share reaching 22%, 17.8% and 7.7%, respectively. Compared to the same period last year, exports to the US increased by 18.9%, exports to Japan increased by 19.1%, while exports to China decreased by 4.3%.
Coffee exports in the first two months of the year reached 284 thousand tons with a value of 1.58 billion USD, down 28.4% in volume but up 26.2% in value. The average export coffee price reached 5,574.5 USD/ton, up 76.3%. Germany, Italy and Japan are the three largest consumer markets. Rubber reached an export turnover of 532.9 million USD with 280.6 thousand tons, down 5.9% in volume but up 24.8% in value. China continues to be the largest rubber import market with 78.1% market share.
Tea exports reached 17.7 thousand tons with a value of 29.2 million USD, up 0.8% in volume and 0.3% in value. Pakistan, Russia and Taiwan are the three largest consumer markets. Rice exports reached 1.1 million tons with a value of 613 million USD, up 5.9% in volume but down 13.6% in value. The average export price reached 553.6 USD/ton, down 18.3%. The Philippines is still the largest consumer market with a market share of 38.6%.
Export turnover of vegetables and fruits reached 724.5 million USD, down 11%. China accounts for 46.5% of Vietnam's fruit and vegetable export market share. Cashews reached 62.4 thousand tons with a value of 424.8 million USD, down 31.8% in volume and 13.7% in value. The US, the Netherlands and China are the three main export markets. Pepper reached a turnover of 188.7 million USD with 28 thousand tons, down 9.4% in volume but up 51.9% in value. The US, Germany and India are the three largest consumer markets.
Cassava exports and cassava products reached 695.9 thousand tons with a value of 227.7 million USD, up 10.4% in volume but down 21% in value. China accounts for 93.3% of the market share. Seafood exports reached 1.42 billion USD, up 18.6%. China, Japan and the US are the three largest consumer markets. Exports of wood and wood products reached 2.52 billion USD, up 12.4%. The US, Japan and China are the three main export markets.
Production activities are positive
Agricultural production activities in February 2025 continued to achieve positive results. The total rice harvested area reached 756.8 thousand hectares with an estimated output of 4.76 million tons.
The yield of Winter-Spring rice in the southern provinces reached 71 quintals/ha. The total pig herd of the country increased by 3.2%, the poultry herd increased by 3.4%. The area of newly planted forests reached 20.1 thousand hectares, an increase of 6.5%. The output of exploited wood reached 2.182 million m3, an increase of 3.4%.
Seafood output reached 1.232 million tons, up 1.7% over the same period last year. Of which, fish reached 910 thousand tons, shrimp reached 124.2 thousand tons. Agricultural, forestry and fishery exports in the first two months of the year continued to maintain a positive growth rate, reflecting the stability of the industry's production and export activities.
