Many barriers to developing renewable energy
Vietnam is entering an era of growth with the aspiration for rapid, sustainable, and comprehensive development, aiming for 10% growth in the coming years. To realize this goal, ensuring enough energy for economic development is a big challenge that needs to be overcome.
According to Dr. Phan Xuan Dung - Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, the energy development policy of the Party and State is clearly expressed in Resolution 55-NQ/TW of the Politburo, the VIII Electricity Plan and legal documents such as the Electricity Law, the Atomic Energy Law and many other related laws.
According to the Government's development orientation, Vietnam's power system will develop in a green, clean and sustainable direction, shifting the economic structure towards circular green, low emissions, in line with Vietnam's sustainable development standards and strategies as well as commitments at COP 26, bringing net emissions to zero by 2050.
However, according to Dr. Phan Xuan Dung, to achieve this goal, there are still many documents and legal regulations that need to be amended and approved in the coming time, when the state's policy mechanisms in the short, medium and long term will focus on developing the energy industry.
"It is necessary to remove difficulties and barriers from policy mechanisms, procedures and legal regulations in investment and development of power and renewable energy projects. This is important for completing the set goals for the energy industry, as well as contributing to the successful implementation of the socio-economic development goals of the country in general - Dr. Phan Xuan Dung emphasized.

Although there have been many mechanisms and policies issued, the Deputy Head of the Propaganda Department and the Central Mobilization Committee pointed out: The reality is still difficult. Policy barriers still cause psychological fear for investors. However, with the Party's determination, the drastic government, the authorities are accelerating the speed of adjusting policies, overcoming shortcomings to create a more favorable environment for investors.
