By the end of April 2026, PV GAS had imported 230 thousand tons of LNG for power generation, while maintaining a LPG supply of about 100 thousand tons/month for the domestic market and regional exports.
Expanding imported LNG sources amid pressure from Middle East tensions
In the context of declining domestic gas production, PV GAS has prioritized gas sources for power generation, while optimizing system operation to maintain stable supply. In parallel, PV GAS promotes imports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to supplement supply for gas power plants.
As of the end of April 2026, PV GAS has completed 04 rounds of LNG purchases with a total volume of 230 thousand tons from Qatar, Southeast Asia and Australia, supplying to PV Power power plants and power generation units under EVN/EVNGENCO3.
In the second quarter of 2026, efforts to arrange imported LNG shipments were stepped up to meet customer demand. To date, PV GAS has arranged 1 more shipment to be delivered in May - June 2026 from Malaysia. The shipments were arranged in multiple phases in April and May 2026, showing the ability to coordinate and ensure supply in volatile market conditions.

The commercial operation of Nhon Trach 3 and 4 power plants from the beginning of 2026 marks a step in the development of the gas - LNG power chain in Vietnam. With the role of a gas supplier, PV GAS is preparing cargo sources, infrastructure and operating plans, gradually forming a synchronous LNG value chain, contributing to improving energy self-sufficiency.
Proactively importing more than 300,000 tons of LPG, maintaining stable market supply
Besides LNG, PV GAS continues to maintain stable supply of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) to the domestic market in the context of general market difficulties. The volume of LPG imported reached about 104.8 thousand tons in April 2026 from the United States, the Middle East and other regions.
It is expected that in May and June 2026, about 100,000 tons of LPG will be imported each month, bringing the total import volume in Q2/2026 to over 300,000 tons with the main source of goods from the United States. LPG imports meet domestic demand and partly export to Cambodia and the Philippines.
LPG supply activities are continuously deployed for both commercial and retail channels, in which the Petrovietnam Gas brand continues to play an important role in the market. The market is supplied continuously in the context of cyclical demand, contributing to limiting supply fluctuations.

In the long term, PV GAS continues to expand its gas, LNG and LPG infrastructure, including pipeline systems, warehouses and logistics services. PV GAS is also researching low-emission energy solutions to adapt to the energy transition trend.
With the role of a central link in the gas value chain, PV GAS ensures fuel sources for power generation, while maintaining stable LPG supply for the economy. Proactiveness and flexibility in operation help PV GAS continue to make important contributions to ensuring national energy security in both the short and long term.
