Priority purchase of promotional items
Recorded at supermarkets and shopping centers in Can Tho City after Tet, goods were full of shelves with many discount programs and promotions. The shopping atmosphere is moderate, not increased dramatically like before and during Tet.
If during Tet, seasonal products such as cakes, jams, and soft drinks are quite popular, most consumers currently prioritize buying fresh food. Accordingly, products offered and discounted have attracted the attention of many customers.

Going shopping with her family, Ms. Phan Thi Ngoc Yen (Ninh Kieu district, Can Tho city) said that from fashion to necessities, prices have decreased. However, during Tet, there were still many cakes and candy, so Ms. Yen's family only bought fresh foods to cook.
"The amount of money spent for Tet is beyond expectations, so the family is trying to balance it. We prioritize all foods that have been purchased before Tet such as cakes and candy. As for meat, fish, vegetables, and tubers, they are still purchased daily to ensure freshness and nutrition," said Ms. Yen.
Taking the opportunity to hunt for sales at the supermarket to save money after Tet, Mr. Huy Hung (Ninh Kieu district, Can Tho city) shared that vegetables, tubers, meat, and fish are the items that his family chooses to buy these days. According to Mr. Hung, buying fresh food to live in the supermarket not only ensures food safety and hygiene but is also recommended.
“Food at the supermarket has a clear origin, so I feel more secure when using it. In addition to choosing promotional items and direct discounts on the products, I also accumulate points according to the supermarket's program. That way, my family will save a lot,” said Mr. Huy.
Ensure food safety
Regarding food safety and hygiene issues, especially fresh goods, before that, Mr. Lam Hoang Phuc (living food area, Co.op Mart Can Tho supermarket) informed that supermarkets always choose reputable suppliers and input goods that are strictly inspected, with clear origins with full documents.
During the business process, the unit was also close, absolutely not allowing goods to be damaged or unsuitable on the counter. Every day, the staff check the product code, production date, use date, tools and cleaning at the end of the day when delivering shifts.
At LOTTE Mart Can Tho supermarket, food safety and hygiene is also strictly implemented. Not only fresh products, but also dried products, frozen goods... when sold in the system are all controlled according to VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards, fully meeting the standards of quality, food safety and hygiene, techniques, packaging and transportation.
“Products must also go through a strict quality control process from the initial stage to the stage of display on the counter, with periodic or random sampling for testing. For each stage, LOTTE Mart will have its own strict quality control departments and processes,” said Mr. Nguyen Minh Luong - Director of LOTTE Mart Can Tho Supermarket.
