On the afternoon of June 3rd, at the regular government press conference in May 2026, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan answered the press about the issue of quality control of bio-gasoline after E10 gasoline was officially used nationwide from June 1st.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan emphasized that it is necessary to control all types of biofuel gasoline on the market, including E5 and E10 types. In terms of quality, biofuel gasoline must comply with the promulgated standards and regulations.
The Ministry of Science and Technology has issued very specific and clear standards and regulations for biofuel gasoline. This means that the quality of distributed biofuel gasoline must meet these standards, including the blending process," the Deputy Minister said.
The Deputy Minister affirmed that when bio-gasoline is sold to consumers, it must be inspected and controlled at all stages, from production, blending, distribution, and circulation. Consumers themselves should also have reverse assessments and feedback when using bio-gasoline, creating conditions for inspection and control.
According to the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, the law also clearly stipulates the responsibilities of enterprises in all stages from production, distribution, blending, circulation, and storage of general types of gasoline, including bio-gasoline.
State management agencies also regularly inspect through market management forces at the central and local levels. Departments of Science and Technology, Construction and other functional units also participate in quality control.
Also according to the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, the inspection is carried out according to plan, and there are also surprise inspections for timely handling. The supply of bio-gasoline has been carried out since 2018 and there has always been inspection and control, and this task will continue to be carried out for E10 gasoline.
Regarding consumer protection, the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade affirmed that the Law on Protection of Consumer Rights has clearly promulgated the highest rights and responsibilities for consumer protection.
The most important thing in the policy of switching to biofuel gasoline must be aimed at creating the best conditions for people and consumers. Consumer rights are the most important. "All policies we aim for," Mr. Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan emphasized.
There have been many solutions to this problem, including receiving feedback from consumers and conducting inspections based on feedback.
Businesses must also be responsible for strengthening responses to feedback, and at the same time providing accurate advice to consumers, because not everyone knows what to do when an incident occurs.
The Ministry also built question and answer sets; requiring car manufacturers and manufacturers to have assessments and guidance for users, and prepare technical facilities to prevent incidents. "The opinions of experts at this time are very important," the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade exchanged.
Along with that, management agencies also established a channel to receive feedback. Currently, a process of receiving, warranty, handling and resolving is being built to ensure compliance with legal regulations.
For E5 and E10 bio-gasoline, we have also built a process to receive, reflect, process and resolve all people's petitions to ensure compliance with the provisions of law to protect consumer rights," emphasized the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan also requested localities, technical units, and consumer protection associations to receive feedback, thereby coordinating to come up with consulting options for consumers to ensure their highest rights.
Another very important thing is to ensure sufficient supply of E5 and E10 biofuel gasoline on the market, without disrupting supply.
