On the afternoon of June 23, at the 24th session of the 10th term of the Da Nang People's Council, term 2021-2026, Ms. Le Thi Kim Phuong - Director of the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade said that in the first 6 months of 2025, the Market Management Department (QLTT) under the Department inspected 390 cases, thereby handling 249 violations with a total amount of fines and sales collected of more than 2.8 billion VND, temporarily detained, confiscated, and forced to destroy nearly 7,000 units of violating goods, with an estimated value of nearly 1.7 billion VND.
According to Ms. Le Thi Kim Phuong, during the peak period under the direction of the Prime Minister as well as the People's Committee of Da Nang City (from September 15 to June 15, 2025), the Department of Industry and Trade of Da Nang directed the Market Management Department to step up the management of the area, strengthen inspection and control to fight against and repel smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights.
The Market Management Department focuses on prominent items such as food, functional foods, cosmetics, fashion, consumer goods, focusing on key streets and areas in Da Nang such as tourist streets, Han Market area, Con Market...
After 1 month of peak implementation, the Da Nang City Market Management Force has inspected 147 cases and handled 98 violations. Of which, there were 3 cases of smuggled goods, 59 cases of commercial fraud, and 36 cases of intellectual property infringement.
"Through the implementation during the peak month, currently on some streets, many stores have been inspected and have not been inspected by the authorities and have occurred unusual closures due to fear of the authorities. Some stores have been inspected by the authorities and have no goods to sell, and purchasing power has decreased" - Ms. Le Thi Kim Phuong - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Da Nang said.
Based on the achieved results, the Department of Industry and Trade of Da Nang City said that it will continue to direct the Market Management force to effectively implement the task of fighting to prevent and repel smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights in the city.
The unit focuses on the group of milk products, health protection foods, and new drugs that have been of public interest in recent times... to promptly detect and strictly handle violations of the production and trading of counterfeit and smuggled goods, unknown origins, and infringements of intellectual property rights.
The Department of Industry and Trade of Da Nang also considers this one of the key tasks that need to be implemented regularly and continuously, not just during the peak month.
