According to published data, the gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in Hai Phong City in the first 6 months of 2026 at comparable prices in 2020 is estimated to grow by 11.33% compared to the same period last year. With this result, Hai Phong ranks first among 7 centrally-run cities, second in the Red River Delta region and third in the country, recording the highest growth rate in the first 6 months of the year in the last 5 years.
The growth structure recorded uniform contribution from economic sectors: The industrial and construction sector increased by 13.46%, contributing 7.06 percentage points; The service sector increased by 10.24%, contributing 3.58 percentage points; The agriculture, forestry and fishery sector increased by 2.23%, contributing 0.14 percentage points; Product tax minus product subsidies increased by 8.69%, contributing 0.55 percentage points to the overall increase.

Industrial production continues to affirm its role as the core growth engine of the port city. The Industrial Production Index (IIP) in the first 6 months of the year is estimated to increase by 14.79% compared to the same period, marking the fifth consecutive year of double-digit growth.
