The Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lao Cai province has just issued a decision to administratively sanction the Northern Paper Company Limited (Northern Paper Company) for not properly implementing the content of the environmental impact assessment report of the fuel and clean coal producer project in Minh Quan Industrial Park, Au Lau ward.
The Northern Paper Company, headquartered in Minh Quan Industrial Park, Au Lau Ward, with Mr. Nguyen Huu Tinh as Director, violated the provisions of Point d, Clause 1, Article 10 of Decree 45/2022/ND-CP of the Government on administrative sanctions in the field of environmental protection.
Accordingly, this enterprise did not properly implement the content of approving the environmental impact assessment report of the MB Fuel Compressor Factory and Clean Coal Production Project.
Failure to comply with approved contents has affected regional environmental management and violated legal regulations.
From the inspection results, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lao Cai province decided to fine the company 90 million VND.
At the same time, businesses are required to promptly correct violations and fully implement the contents of the approved environmental impact assessment report.
The Department also requested the Northern Paper Company to strictly comply with the penalty decision. If after 10 days from the date of receipt of the decision, the enterprise fails to voluntarily pay the fine, it will be forced to comply.
In addition, for each day of late payment of fines, the company will have to pay an additional 0.05% of the unpaid fine.
