From August 1-2, in Thanh Hoa, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association organized a Local Dialogue Round within the framework of the Vietnam Private Economy Forum 2025, North Central region cluster.
The event gathered more than 200 young entrepreneurs from Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Hue City and many other localities across the country. On the side of the Union Central Committee, there were Mr. Hoang Binh Quan - former member of the Party Central Committee, former Head of the Central Commission for External Relations, Honorary President of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association; Mr. Nguyen Hong Phong - Vice President of the Union. Representing Thanh Hoa province were Mr. Nguyen Van Thi - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with leaders of departments, branches and organizations.
The North Central Regional Dialogue Round is one of the key activities of the Vietnam Private Economy Forum 2025 with the theme throughout: "Unleashing Potential - Creating the Future of Vietnam". The goal of the Forum is to establish a substantive dialogue mechanism between the private sector and authorities at all levels to remove institutional bottlenecks, improve the investment - business environment, and promote sustainable development of the private economy.

Speaking at the forum, Mr. Nguyen Hong Phong - Vice President of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association - said that the North Central region has many advantages in terms of geographical location, seaport infrastructure, airports, coastal economic zone, and abundant young labor force. However, old barriers such as loose regional linkages, small enterprises accounting for a large proportion, lack of leading enterprises, complicated land procedures, limited access to credit and high-quality human resources are still hindering development.
From the above practice, Mr. Phong raised many key questions: "How can the North Central region attract high-quality investment projects in new economic sectors? How to make the policy to support small and medium enterprises truly come into practice? How can local vocational training institutions train a team to meet market demand? How can young people start a business in their hometown without having to leave?".
According to Mr. Phong, the answer does not only come from the policy at the central level, but also depends on the determination to reform and the specific action capacity of each locality. When the government accompanies businesses with specific actions, the infrastructure is invested with focus, regional linkages become substantial and the business community is created conditions to promote the role of the subject - then, the North Central region will have the opportunity to break through, rise to become a new key development driving force on the national development map - Mr. Phong affirmed.
At the forum, delegates focused on discussing key issues such as: regional linkages and strategic infrastructure; reforming investment and land procedures; digital transformation, green transformation in the agricultural, industrial and tourism sectors; developing the marine economy; improving the capacity of local businesses, especially small and medium enterprises.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Thi - Permanent Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee - emphasized: "The private economy is one of the important driving forces for growth. The State has had many support policies such as tax, credit, land lease incentives, etc. Thanh Hoa province sets a target of contributing 58% to 62% of GRDP by 2030.
Mr. Thi affirmed that Thanh Hoa identifies enterprises as the center of economic development, in which the young entrepreneur team is the pioneer force in innovating growth models, applying technology, and exploiting regional advantages. He called on the business community to boldly contribute ideas, propose initiatives and proactively innovate, towards sustainable development and social responsibility.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also suggested that the Thanh Hoa Young Entrepreneurs Association promote its role in connecting, supporting members, creating an effective dialogue space with the government, promoting startups and spreading the spirit of young entrepreneurs in the new generation. At the same time, he pledged that local authorities will continue to accompany businesses, reform administrative procedures, support access to land, credit and human resources.
According to the Organizing Committee, the initiatives and recommendations at the North Central Group Dialogue will be compiled into the Vietnam Private Economy White Book 2025 and presented at the ministerial and high-level dialogue session, scheduled to be held in September.
