On June 2, the State Audit of Region V held a Conference on the implementation of the decision to audit the 2024 local budget report of Hau Giang province and Can Tho city; thematic on the management and use of operating funds in 2024 of public health facilities, management and use of agricultural funds in Can Tho.
Conference to implement the decision of the State Auditor General to audit the 2024 Local Budget settlement report of Hau Giang province.
The audit objective is to confirm the honesty and reasonableness of the data, assess compliance with the law, and effectiveness in budget management and operation. In particular, the audit team will focus on promptly detecting violations, corruption, waste, and negativity and clearly defining the responsibilities of collectives and individuals to propose handling according to regulations.
The scope of audit includes the 2024 budget year and relevant periods before and after, with an audit period of 29 days. The audited units include: Hau Giang Department of Finance, State Treasury of the XIX region and Tax Department of the XIX region (Hau Giang province).
The conference also announced the decision of the State Auditor General to decide on auditing the 2024 Local Budget settlement report; the topic of management and use of operating funds in 2024 of public health facilities; the topic of management and use of agricultural funds for the period 2022 - 2024 in Can Tho City.
The audit's objective is to confirm the honesty and reasonableness of the data, assess compliance with the law and the effectiveness of local budget management as well as policies in audit topics. The audit team will recommend competent authorities to complete inadequate mechanisms and policies, while detecting and strictly handling violations.
Auditing period lasts 60 days. The list of audited units includes: Can Tho Department of Finance; State Treasury in XIX area (Can Tho City); Tax Department of region XIX (Can Tho City); Customs Sub -Department of XIX region (Can Tho City); Can Tho Department of Health; Can Tho City General Hospital; Cancer Hospital in Can Tho City; Can Tho Cardiology Hospital; Can Tho Maternity Hospital; Can Tho Children's Hospital; Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (now Department of Agriculture and Environment) Can Tho City.
At the conference, leaders of the People's Committees of Can Tho City and Hau Giang Province both emphasized the importance of auditing activities and requested relevant units to closely coordinate, provide full records and documents, creating the most favorable conditions for audit teams to complete their tasks. The Departments of Finance of the two localities are assigned to be the unit for synthesizing reports.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Sy - Chief Auditor of the State Audit Office, Region V - requested the leaders of the two localities to direct units to provide timely documents and clarify any suspicious issues if any.
In particular, Mr. Sy also requested units and localities to closely monitor the activities of the audit team and its members. Any harassment, harassment or issue related to public ethics during the audit must be reported to the State Audit hotline or directly contacted by the State Audit of Region V for timely correction.
