Recently, Permanent Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Duong Tan Hien signed an official dispatch requesting increased responsibility and completion of procedures to implement the National Highway 91 Upgrade and Expansion Project (from Km0 - Km7).

Relevant departments and branches, including the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the Department of Construction, the Department of Industry and Trade, the Can Tho City Land Fund Development Center, the People's Committees of Ninh Kieu and Binh Thuy districts and related units, need to promptly resolve problems and bottlenecks according to their authority.
The Can Tho City Construction Investment Project Management Board needs to proactively coordinate closely with relevant departments, branches and localities to urgently complete compensation, support, resettlement, relocation of technical infrastructure works, and speed up the project implementation progress (strive to start construction of some items/packages on the occasion of the April 30 holiday).
At the same time, ensuring progress and quality, by the end of June 2025, all of the VND 3,235 billion allocated in 2025 must be disbursed.

The project to upgrade and expand National Highway 91 (section from Km0 - Km7) with a total investment of nearly VND 7,238 billion is being urgently implemented by Can Tho City. This is a key project, of great significance in the city's socio-economic development.
The project has a total planned land area of about 27.25 hectares; affecting about 1,066 households, individuals and organizations; with a need for resettlement of about 300 plots.
The National Highway 91 Upgrade and Expansion Project (section from Km0 - Km7), Can Tho City is a Group A project, a level 1 road traffic project, with implementation period from 2023 - 2027. The overall goal of the project is to complete the transport infrastructure, striving to build Can Tho into a modern and civilized city, basically becoming an industrial city.
