According to information from the Ministry of Industry and Trade on February 18, in Washington D.C. (USA), General Secretary To Lam witnessed the signing and awarding ceremony of contracts and cooperation agreements in key areas such as science and technology, digital transformation, aviation and healthcare.
On the sidelines of the signing ceremony, Acting Minister of Industry and Trade Le Manh Hung had an exchange with Mr. David Fogel - Assistant Minister of Commerce, Director of the US International Trade Agency. The Acting Minister expressed his appreciation for the role of the US Department of Commerce and relevant agencies in bilateral relations in general and the negotiation process of the reciprocal, fair and balanced trade agreement in particular and said that the two sides can accelerate negotiations, focusing on core economic contents.

Regarding promoting trade and investment cooperation, the Acting Minister emphasized that the potential for cooperation is still very large. The fact that businesses of the two countries held a signing ceremony and awarded major trade agreements in the presence of General Secretary To Lam shows Vietnam's serious commitment to implementing harmonious trade measures towards balancing the trade balance of goods and services from the United States in the medium and long term.
The Acting Minister also said that Vietnamese functional agencies are coordinating to handle the concerns of US businesses based on compliance with the law and harmonizing the interests of all parties.

In an exchange with Ms. Virginia Foote - Vice President of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Vietnam and Mr. Joseph Damond - former US Trade Representative Assistant (USTR), Acting Minister Le Manh Hung highly appreciated the positive and constructive contributions of the business community and US experts to promoting economic - trade and investment relations between the two countries.
The Acting Minister acknowledged the important bridge role of AmCham in strengthening dialogue, creating a transparent and favorable business environment, as well as supporting the bilateral trade cooperation process towards balance and sustainability.
